Depart Arusha

Leave Arusha in the early morning. The drive to Lake Manyara takes about 2 hours, passing through lively villages and banana plantations.

9:00 AM :

Arrive at Lake Manyara National Park Gate

Enter the park through its lush forested gate. Look out for baboons, blue monkeys, and hornbills as you begin your game drive.

9:30 AM :

Morning Game Drive (Forest and Groundwater Area)

Explore the dense forest area where elephants and other wildlife often wander near the road. The birdlife is especially active in the morning.

11:00 AM :

Continue Game Drive Along Lakeshore

Move toward the open floodplains and lakeshore. Spot buffalo, warthogs, zebras, and giraffes, and keep an eye out for tree-climbing lions lounging in acacia trees.

Picnic Lunch by the Lake

Drive further south if time allows, toward the Maji Moto hot springs or explore more of the less-traveled park areas for a quieter wildlife experience.

Start Return Drive Toward Park Gate

Begin heading back through the park, stopping for any final sightings or photo opportunities.

4:00 PM :

Exit Lake Manyara National Park

Leave the park and begin the return trip to Arusha.
