Mount Meru is a moderately challenging climb. It’s shorter than Kilimanjaro but includes steep sections, high altitude, and early starts. Good fitness and some hiking experience are recommended.

Most trekkers don’t need separate acclimatization, as the 3-day itinerary includes a gradual ascent. That said, it’s a great way to acclimate before a Kilimanjaro climb.

Yes. Arusha National Park is home to giraffes, buffaloes, monkeys, and birds. The lower slopes of Meru often include wildlife sightings, especially in the rainforest section.

Pack layered clothing for temperature changes, sturdy hiking boots, a warm jacket for the summit night, a headlamp, rain gear, a daypack, snacks, and basic personal items. Most gear can be rented in Arusha if needed.
